1   About this policy

This policy sets out how Diehl Chemical, LLC (“Diehl Chemical,” “we,” or “us”) handles personal information in connection with diehlchemical.com.

It applies to people who visit the site and to people who send us an inquiry or a quote request through it. It does not apply to information we gather away from the website, to information our customers or suppliers collect on their own sites, or to personnel records.

2   What we collect

Information you send us:

 

Our quote request and contact forms ask for your first and last name, company name, telephone number, mailing address, email address, and the products or services you are interested in. We also keep whatever you write in the body of your message.

Information gathered as you browse:

Opening the site generates technical data that we and our providers receive automatically. This includes your IP address, the type and version of your browser, your operating system, device identifiers, screen and language settings, the address of the page that referred you, the pages you open, and the times you open them. Where a page fails to load or render properly, an error report is generated.

Your approximate location can be estimated from your IP address. We do not collect precise location data from your device.

We do not record your screen, log your keystrokes, or replay your sessions. We do not set out to collect the categories of sensitive personal information defined under California law or comparable laws elsewhere.

3   Cookies, tags, and your agreement

Cookies and related technologies — pixels, tags, and software development kits — operate on this site in four groups:

 

• Essential: Security, page rendering, session handling, and load balancing. These run whenever you arrive and the site cannot function without them.

• Functional: Preferences and embedded content such as maps or video. These run on arrival and can be switched off.

• Analytics and diagnostics: Traffic patterns, performance monitoring, and error capture. These run on arrival and can be switched off.

• Marketing: Not in use on this site.

A notice appears when you first arrive, describing these technologies and giving you the means to switch off anything that is not essential. Certain cookies and scripts — among them security, rendering, and diagnostic tools — begin operating at the moment you arrive.

Continuing to use the site after that notice appears indicates your agreement to (a) cookies and similar technologies being placed on and read from your device, and (b) your IP address, browser and device identifiers, referring addresses, and the routing, addressing, and signaling information generated by your visit being collected, recorded, and passed to us and to the providers who work on our behalf, for the purposes set out in this policy.

This agreement is intended to serve as consent under the California Invasion of Privacy Act, including sections 631, 632.7, and 638.51 of the California Penal Code, and under any comparable state or federal law. You may withdraw it, or switch off individual categories, at any time through the privacy control displayed on the site.

4   Why we use it

We use the information described above to:

• answer inquiries, prepare quotes, and carry on business correspondence

• investigate technical faults and monitor how the site performs

• identify and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

• meet our legal, regulatory, safety, and environmental obligations.

5   Who receives it

Personal information reaches the following categories of recipient:

• Providers who work on our behalf. These include the platform that hosts and runs the website (Wix), the provider of our consent notice (Usercentrics), and our email and IT providers. Inquiries submitted through the site are forwarded to us by email. Providers may use personal information only to carry out work for us. We may change providers from time to time without notifying visitors.

• Diagnostic services engaged by our website platform. These include Sentry, which receives technical and error data produced when pages load.

• Advisers and authorities. Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and regulators.

• Law enforcement and legal process. Where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.

• A successor. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act. Our consent notice nonetheless offers a means of opting out of any sale or sharing, and we act on those requests, and on Global Privacy Control signals, whether or not any sale or sharing takes place.

6   How long we keep it

We hold each category of personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, or for longer where the law requires it. In setting those periods we look to:

• Quote requests, inquiries, and correspondence. Held for the life of the business relationship and for as long afterwards as a related claim could be brought.

• Technical and diagnostic records. Held according to the standard retention periods applied by the platforms and providers that generate them.

We do not keep personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose for which it was collected.

7   Your rights and choices

If you live in California

California residents may:

 

•  find out what categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold, where it came from, why we hold it, and who receives it

• ask us to delete personal information we collected from them, subject to the exceptions the law allows;

• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate

• opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — as noted in section 5, we do not sell or share, and we act on these requests regardless

• limit how sensitive personal information is used and disclosed — we do not collect it through this site

• exercise any of these rights without being treated differently as a result.

If you live in Texas or another state with a privacy law

You may have rights to see, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain kinds of profiling. Should we turn down a request, you may appeal by writing to us at the address in section 12. We will answer an appeal within the time the applicable law allows, and if we maintain our refusal we will tell you how to raise the matter with your state Attorney General.

Global Privacy Control

We recognize the Global Privacy Control signal. Where a browser sends one, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for that browser and device.

How to make a request

Write to us using any of the details in section 12. We will confirm who you are before acting, usually by checking information we already hold. Someone may act on your behalf if they provide written authority and proof of their own identity.

8   Links to other sites

This site may link to websites and services run by others. Once you leave, their privacy practices apply rather than ours, and we encourage you to read them before sending any information.

9   Keeping information secure
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. No means of transmitting or storing data is entirely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

10   Children

This is a business-to-business site and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

11   Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change is significant, we will say so on the site.
